Artist's Commentary
My paintings in everyway become extentions of myself as no matter what the subject I find myself painting and recording matter that relates to e on some sub-conscious higher level. This will never be completed as it is part of my ongoing journey through self-discovery. The Tryptic represents the decay of childhood, that inner yearning me may get in times of our lives to return to an age of innocence in our minds and let ourselves and our thoughts drift for a while. But what if we were to find those memories flaking and decaying with age as we struggle to remember the detail of those moments? I work heavily in metaphors and symbolism so each part of a painting means something but is always left open to interpretation.
